Google has reportedly canceled the Pixel Tablet 2, as we discovered last month, and today we get new details about what could have been, but won’t be.
The Pixel Tablet 2 is said to have a 10.95-inch LCD display with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness of 550 nits, with the Tensor G4 SoC at the helm (although that in a slightly less performing version will also be in the Pixel 9a), and even 5G support in one version.

This would be made possible by the Exynos Modem 5400 that is in the Pixel 9 smartphones. However, the tablet would not have had satellite communication. The 5G variant would also have GPS.
The Pixel Tablet 2’s selfie camera would have had an update to a 10MP sensor, up from 8MP, while the rear camera would have been 11MP with autofocus (a pretty significant upgrade to the 8MP camera with fixed focus of the original Pixel Tablet). Despite having the same selfie snapper as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the tablet would not have received support for face unlock.
Finally, the canceled device is rumored to support DisplayPort output up to 4K. It would have come with a Google-made keyboard and stylus. But now all that is irrelevant, as the Pixel Tablet 2 isn’t coming – or at least not this device. Google can of course launch something else in the future and call it that.
