Helldivers 2 players are now used to Arrowhead’s jokes. The developer has a healthy habit of doing everything in character, whether it’s making announcements, patch notes, or even just messing with players. This makes every interaction with the developers fun, especially considering the game’s subtle message.

Helldivers 2 should have revealed the Illuminate months ago
Players simply walk in circles and wait for something valuable to happen.
This approach has led to some amazing things, like John Helldiver being made canon, Super Earth approving someone’s actual wedding, and even a blatantly named update to tease the arrival of the Illuminate. However, some players think the developers are just messing with them, especially when it comes to a fan-favorite weapon.
Is the LAS-16 crescent getting bigger?
The LAS-16 Sickle is one of the best assault rifles in the game and works great against bugs and bots alike. It shoots ammo quickly and smoothly and runs on a cool-down system, so you don’t have to worry about reloading if you’re careful. However, Reddit fans like Paxelic and Impossible-Pie2924 have noticed something strange in recent weeks: the Sickle seems to be getting bigger with every update.
Here’s where it gets confusing. The gun has certainly gotten bigger since it launched with the Cutting Edge Warbond. However, everyone is unsure if this was just a routine visual update or if the developers are trying to see if anyone notices. Arrowhead hasn’t officially said anything about this, but knowing the developers, they could possibly be laughing about it behind the scenes.
However, the growing size of the weapon does not appear to have affected it in any way. Besides being part of Arrowhead’s 60-day update plan to improve the game overall, it doesn’t seem to get more powerful with each growth spurt it gets. The least they could do was improve the cooldown.
Speaking of Arrowhead humor, there were a bunch of Helldivers 2 updates on SteamDB, suspiciously called “gameplay_illuminates”. While it looked like the game would finally reveal the long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, fans were unsure and thought the developers were just trolling as usual. For all we know, it could be a lighting system update.
